Introduction to Infrared Thermography (two days)
This course is designed as an intense “get-up-and-running”
session for new camera owners and customers trying to decide
on the right camera to buy. Hands-on experiments and
application related labs are included as part of the course
content. There are no pre-requisites for this course. The
following topics are covered.
* Basic thermodynamics (heat transfer)
* Basic infrared theory
* Proper camera operation, setup and maintenance
* Techniques for obtaining good qualitative and quantitative
images (temperature measurement)
* Best practice for reporting results
* Application overview to include electrical, mechanical,
building envelope, roofing and restoration
* Thermographer safety
Students will leave this course with the necessary tools and
knowledge to capture and interpret quality infrared images
with their cameras. Although not required, it is strongly
recommended that students bring IR cameras for the hands-on
portion of the course. Arrangements can be made ahead of the
class for students who need a camera. Please consult with
the training administrator at the time of registration to
discuss class camera options. NACHI members: this course
meets the IR training requirements for the “Infrared
Certified” professional designation. This course does not
meet the educational requirements for certification
according to the ASNT, SNT-TC-1A.
Tuition: $795 USD
Tuition includes the cost of the course materials, breakfast
and lunch each day. It does not include transportation and
